H Long Bay (Vietnamese: Vnh H Long, IPA: [vîn hâ lawm] is a UNESCO world heritage site and popular travel destination in Qung Ninh province, Vietnam.

The name H Long means "descending dragon".

The bay features thousands of karsts and limestone islands in various shapes and sizes. Ha Long Bay is a center of a larger area that includes Bai Tu Long Bay to the northeast, and Cát Bà Island to the southwest.

These larger areas share similar geological, geographic, geomorphological, climatic and cultural characteristics.

Historical research has shown the presence of prehistoric human beings in this area tens of thousands of years ago. Successive ancient cultures are the Soi Nhu culture around 18,000-7000 B.C.
